Experience Antigua from a unique perspective by joining our signature hiking tour – The Signal Hill Tour. This local tour is designed to leave you feeling relaxed, revitalized, and with a plethora of wonderful memories.
The hike begins at the Fig Tree Studio Art Gallery and takes you through the rainforest to the historic Walling’s Dam. Further down the trail, you’ll find an oasis waiting for you. The dam and the lake are surrounded by a picnic area that makes for a perfect pit stop.
The tour takes you through the Rainforest to Signal Hill, where you can enjoy a stunning 360-degree view of Antigua. Along the way, you’ll see Carlie Bay, the first beach that Columbus landed on, as well as Claremont Farm, one of Antigua’s largest Pine Apple Farms. The tour continues to Rendezvous Bay and Falmouth, providing you with a unique opportunity to witness the beautiful flora, fauna, and various bird species in the rainforest from a bird’s eye view.
What to bring and wear:
When choosing shoes for hiking, it is important to select walking shoes, hiking boots, or trainers. Flip flops or beach shoes are not recommended for rainforest terrain.
Walking tours are scheduled for every Tuesday and Thursday, starting at 9:00 am. Since most of the paths are located within the rainforest, it is advisable to bring along some sun protection and a hat.
Fitness requirements:
This particular hike is deemed inappropriate for unaccompanied minors but is suitable for moderately fit adults and children. The total duration of the hike is approximately two hours, during which several challenging sections are encountered. It is important to note that the hike requires a moderate level of fitness, and participants should be prepared accordingly.
